In a return that was all about ‘love’ for Boston and the Celtics, Thomas saluted the crowd, and talked about the moment in his postgame media session.
“They showed their true colors like they always do and that’s all I keep saying is that this genuine love from both sides,” Thomas said. “The fans are everything here.”
Thomas’ relationship clearly went beyond the fans, though, as the end of game came with Thomas embracing and going through a round of handshakes with his ex-teammates.

“Tacoma is who I am, but Boston is definitely in my heart and will always be some type of home for me,” concluded Thomas.
Thomas and the Cavs will return to TD Garden on Feb. 11.
