Skip Bayless: Celtics ceiling ‘pretty low’ with Isaiah Thomas at point guard
Skip Bayless took a break Thursday from firing factually inaccurate cheap shots towards LeBron James. Instead, the hot take flamethrower decided to target Isaiah Thomas.
While live-tweeting the NBA Draft –– and offering contrite analysis on Josh Jackson’s “toughness” and De’Aaron Fox’s “charisma” –– Bayless decided to weigh in on the Celtics’ point guard. According to Bayless, the C’s will never win with Thomas on the team.
“As long as Isaiah Thomas is the PG, Celts ceiling will be pretty low,” he said. “Terrific shooter, clutch shotmaker, but not great passer or defender.”
It’s a curious statement, considering the Celtics snatched up the first seed in the Eastern Conference this season and advanced all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals. If Bayless thinks that’s a “low ceiling,” then what does he think of his show’s ratings? At last check, FS1’s “Undisputed” was drawing fewer viewers than reruns of the “Andy Griffith Show” and episodes of “Elena of Avalor,” –– whatever that is.
