Semi Ojeleye 'trying to get better at not having a position'

Players across the NBA are being asked something to the effect of “what are you trying to improve on” throughout the course of training camp. Some say shooting. Others are trying to get better at attacking the rim. The list goes on.

That being said, unless you’re trying to invent something new — like James Harden and his ridiculous one-legged, three-point, sideways runner — there are only so many things players can mention.

Though Semi Ojeleye may have found a new go-to line for players.

“I think I don’t really have a position,” Ojeleye said at Celtics training camp on Thursday. “So I’m just trying to get better at not having a position and guarding whoever,”

Certainly a different way to explain how Ojeleye is working to become an important part of the Celtics’ rotation.

Here are some other notes from the third day of Celtics Training Camp:

—Marcus Smart did not practice on Thursday. He was out sick.

—Romeo Langford “could be live any day,” according to Brad Stevens — the earliest being Friday.

“He’s been around so much, this won’t set him back at all,” the Celtics head coach added.

—Grant Williams has made quite the impression.

“He’s got a bright future,” Stevens said. “He’s going to be an NBA player for a long, long time. He’s just really smart.”

Williams has also looked solid from three during his extra work — something the Celtics have wanted him to focus on since they drafted him.

He’s also very chatty.

“Grant never stops talking,” Ojeleye said. “But that’s a good thing. That’s what you want. You want somebody that communicates and is able to just talk to everybody and have relationships with everybody.”

Jaylen Brown explained his new haircut.

“Just needed some changes,” he said. “New energy, new team, new year. Just decided to make some changes, and I guess my hair was a part of it.”

Brown also confirmed he feels sleeker and a little more aerodynamic after getting rid of the flat top.
