All of Australia is coming back to Boston.
According to multiple reports, the Celtics have signed free-agent center Aron Baynes to a two-year, $11 million contract, keeping a key cog to one of the league’s best defenses in green for two more seasons.
Baynes, 31, averaged six points and 5.4 rebounds a game last year. He emerged in the postseason as a legitimate 3-point shooter, making 11-of-23 from distance (.478) after making just 4-of-28 (.143) in his regular season career.
Baynes took to Twitter to express his happiness with the deal.
“Staying where I wanted to be!!” he tweeted. “Last year added fuel to the (fire). Bleed green banner 18 (fire emojis).”
