Report: Celtics consider Pacers’ Paul George asking price ‘unrealistic’
The Pacers are asking the Celtics for two starting players and Boston’s first-round picks next year from Brooklyn and the Lakers in return for Paul George, according to a report from Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald.
Murphy tweeted Thursday the Celtics believe these demands are “unrealistic.”
“League source: Celtics waiting to hear back from Indy’s Pritchard, but consider his current demand for George unrealistic,” Murphy’s first tweet reads.
He said in a follow-up tweet, “Source added that Pritchard’s last demand was for next year’s Nets and Lakers picks, plus starting player(s).”
George is in the final year of his contract with the Pacers, and would likely be a one-year rental player with the Celtics.
According to Adam Kaufman, the Celtics have offered the Pacers the first-round pick they received from the 76ers, Jae Crowder, either the 2019 Grizzlies or the Clippers’ protected first-round pick and a money filler.
