NBA Free Agency: 76ers, Kings reportedly among teams interested in Al Horford

Among the teams to first pop up as a potential landing spot for Celtics big man was Al Horford was Dallas. They have the cap space to sign him to the reported four-year, $112 million contract, though the Mavericks are saying they won’t offer Horford that type of deal.

But it turns out the Mavericks aren’t alone in the pursuit of Horford. The Pelicans are reportedly interested, and the newest teams to surface as “surprise bidders” in the Horford sweepstakes are the Kings and 76ers, according to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne and Brian Windhorst.

The 76ers have their hands full with Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris now unrestricted free agents with Bird Rights, while J.J. Redick is also unrestricted, though he has Early Bird Rights.

The Kings, meanwhile, are dealing with Willie Cauley-Stein reportedly wanting out and Harrison Barnes turning down his $25.1 million option for 2019-20 to become an unrestricted free agent.
