Marcus Smart was unable to practice on Tuesday, though it wasn’t solely due to the injury he sustained against the Knicks on Sunday. He had an illness and was sent home after he went to the Auerbach Center to get his oblique checked out.
Regarding the injury, specifically, Smart has not had any imaging done.
He has also been ruled doubtful for Wednesday’s game against the Heat due to what the Celtics are calling an abdomen contusion. Brad Stevens also indicated Smart’s illness doesn’t seem fleeting and it could force the guard to sit out on Wednesday because he sounded “pretty under the weather today.”
“He’s only going to play if he’s a hundred percent, or close,” Stevens added.
Gordon Hayward (out, left hand fracture) is the only other player mentioned on the Celtics injury report.

Romeo Langford is still with the Red Claws. He sprained his right ankle on Sunday.
“They feel like his ankle wasn’t as bad (as last time),” Stevens said. “So they feel good about keeping him up there.”
