It’s been almost a month since LeBron James made his decision to join the Lakers. In that time James has made several appearances at NBA Summer League and various AAU games for his sons. But he never talked about his decision.
That changed Monday when James released a video on Twitter through his digital video company, Uninterrupted, and talked his move to Los Angeles and the grand opening of his ‘I PROMISE’ school in his hometown of Akron, Ohio.
For James, the decision to leave Cleveland was one he called ‘bittersweet’ considering the opening of his foundation’s school. Yet he explained he was excited about the new opportunity in LA.

“This is kind of like a dream come true for me. Growing up I was a Cowboys fan, a Bulls fan, a Yankees fan, and I’ve always felt like that was one of the historic franchises,” James said.
And you look at the Lakers, being able to play for a historic franchise with so much history and being able to partner with Magic Johnson, someone I looked up to when I was younger. I wanted to make no-look passes like Magic, wanted to get on the break and be Showtime like Magic. And for it all to come to fruition at this point, I think timing is everything.”
James called the Lakers a ‘championship franchise’ and explained he was excited to help get the team back to that point.
