Kyrie Irving would likely cost Celtics Jayson Tatum
The Kyrie Irving Watch continues, with Jayson Tatum now getting in the conversation.
According to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavaliers are still preparing for possible life after next season, when LeBron James can leave for free agency. That means entertaining trade talks for Irving. And evidently if the Celtics want to get involved in those discussions it will have to include Tatum.
Wojnarowski states that the Cavaliers are eyeing four young players they feel can be built around, with his league sources suggesting those players are the Knicks Kristaps Porzingis, Suns’ rookie Josh Jackson, Jamal Murray of the Nuggets, and Tatum.
The Celtics, according to Wojnarowski, are aware that the Cavs are “most intrigued with Tatum,” although no formal offer has been made.
