Celtics guard Kyrie Irving will miss Monday’s game against the Bulls with a sore quad.
The Celtics are playing their second game in as many nights after beating the Pistons on Sunday. Irving was uncharacteristically quiet in that one, scoring 16 points on 4-of-12 shooting.
He has missed only one game so far this season, a victory over the Raptors. He returned after that game with the facemask he has worn for the last 13 contests.
Forward Marcus Morris also missed Monday night’s game with a knee injury that could sideline him “for an extended period of time,” according to the Vertical. Morris missed Sunday’s game as well.
One player in the starting lineup was big man Al Horford, who was considered questionable earlier in the day.
