On Saturday, the Celtics offered an update on Kyrie Irving.
According to the team, the guard underwent successful surgery to remove two screws in his left patella.
“The surgery went exactly as planned, and we expect Kyrie to be fully healthy for training camp in the fall,” president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said in a statement.
The original injury occurred in the 2015 NBA finals.
Irving hasn’t played since March 11, when he left a game against the Pacers due to knee soreness.
