The hits just keep coming for Isaiah Thomas in Cleveland.
The former Celtics guard, off to a sluggish start as he returns from a serious hip injury, earned some harsh words from one of LeBron James’ closest media allies.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, who has covered James since his high school days in Akron, told ESPN Cleveland in a radio interview that Thomas belongs in the NBA’s developmental G League.
Per Uproxx: “Right now, the best place for Isaiah would be in the G League. He’s costing the Cavs games right now. It would be better if he was costing the (Canton) Charge games.”
The Cavaliers are just 6-8 since Thomas returned and 6-6 with him in the lineup. His scoring averaged has nearly been cut in half, from last year’s career-high 28.9 to this year’s 15.4, and his defensive rating of 117.5 is the worst of any player in the last 25 years, according to @MyNBAUpdate.
