Celtics fans aren’t the only ones who recognize what LeBron James’ move to the Western Conference means for the team in green. Some celebrities — including noted Celtics skeptic Charles Barkley — are on board now, too.
Speaking on NBA TV on Sunday, Barkley made it clear what kind of position the Celtics are now in as they face a LeBron-less Eastern Conference. Told that the East was now wide open, Barkley disagreed.

“No it’s not,” he said. “Listen, the East was gone if LeBron stayed in the East. The Boston Celtics are the team to beat in the Eastern Conference for the next 10 years. Think about it. They took them to seven games without Kyrie and Gordon Hayward. So the Cavs were done anyway if LeBron stayed there. . . . This is all about the Boston Celtics now.”
Then there’s comedian Chris Rock, who also weighed in on the move via Twitter.
“Congratulations to the Boston Celtics, next year’s Eastern Conference champions,” Rock wrote.
