The Celtics signed PJ Dozier to a two-way contract, Sporting News’ Sean Deveney reported Friday.
Dozier, a 6’6″ combo guard, averaged 12.9 points and 5.6 rebounds for the Thunder’s G League team last season. He played in two games for a total of three minutes for the Thunder.
Considering the depth these Celtics have headed into next season, he’ll likely spend most of his time with the Maine Red Claws. The signing fills the Celtics’ second two-way slot.
Dozier typically wears No. 35 to honor his second cousin — the late Reggie Lewis. The Celtics have retired Lewis’ number, but what better way to honor him than to actually play for the Celtics?
