The Celtics will need to replace Al Horford this offseason and it appears Thunder center Steven Adams is on their list.
According to NBC Sports Boston’s A. Sherrod Blakely, Adams is on the Celtics’ radar, but it’s unclear where he falls in their order of priority and what they are willing to give up to acquire him. Adams is signed through the 2020-21 season and he has a base salary of just under $26 million this year and just under $28 million next year.
Given that salary, it’s worth wondering just how much the Celtics would want to give up.
On top of being a solid defensive player, Adams averaged 13.9 points per game last year, while finishing with career highs in rebounds (9.5), assists (1.6) and steals (1.5).
