Celtics reportedly trading Avery Bradley to Pistons for Marcus Morris
With Gordon Hayward joining the Celtics, they need to cut some salaries, and that process has already begun.
Bradley, one of the best defenders in the NBA, was on the books for over $8 million next season (the last year of his contract), while Morris has a $5 million base salary this year and $5.35 million next season.
Morris, 27, has played for the Rockets, Suns and Pistons in his six years in the league. The power forward has had his best two seasons the last two years, as he averaged 14.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game in 2015-16 and 14 points and 4.6 rebounds in 2016-17. He’s played in 80 and 79 games respectively the last two seasons.
Bradley, 26, has spent his first seven years in the league with the Celtics and is coming off a year where he averaged 16.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, while really picking his game up in the postseason.
