Celtics reportedly express interest in Jamal Crawford
The Celtics haven’t even unloaded all the cap space needed to officially sign Gordon Hayward, but that hasn’t stopped them from further window-shopping.
Shopping that’s added them in the mix for Jamal Crawford, should the Hawks and Crawford complete a potential buyout, this according to BasketballInsiders.com.
A 37-year-old roleplayer, Crawford averaged 12.3 points, 26.3 minutes and shot at a efficient 41.3 percent from the floor for the Clippers last year, and did that while playing in all 82 regular-season games for the first time in his 17-year NBA career.
Crawford would then add 12.6 points per game, along with a playoff-career best 42.2 field goal percentage in a seven-game, round-one loss to the Jazz.
The Celtics would not be alone in their pursuit of the three-time Sixth Man of the Year, as the Cavaliers, Wizards, Wolves, Lakers, and Bucks have also expressed interest.
Crawford is reportedly tight with Celtics superstar and fellow Washingtonian Isaiah Thomas, which could maybe give the Celtics an inside track on selling him on Boston.
