Celtics’ Jae Crowder ‘likes’ series of tweets calling for his trade
Celtics forward Jae Crowder has never been one to shy away from a fight.
Especially the ones he can find on Twitter.
As rumors linking Pacers star Paul George swirled at a fever pitch this week, the 26-year-old Crowder could be found on Twitter giving a like to any and every fan that tweeted and called for him to be included in a potential deal for George.
It’s a genuinely bizarre move by Crowder, who has only ‘liked’ 27 tweets in his Twitter career, and comes on the heels of the Celtics drafting two small forwards in Thursday’s NBA Draft, with Jayson Tatum selected at No. 3 and Semi Ojeleye at No. 37. Ojeleye, oddly enough, has drawn comparisons to Crowder for his physical presence.
This is the second incident involving Crowder getting into it with his online haters in the last year, as Crowder was critical of C’s fans that gave Jazz forward Gordon Hayward a standing ovation and cheers when he came to the Garden as a visitor.
So, what exactly is this? Is it Crowder providing some extra motivation for himself for next year or perhaps this is another case of him subtly expressing his displeasure with the idea that the Celtics need to upgrade his position? Or maybe he’s just having fun on Twitter at the expense of everybody that pays entirely too much attention to this kind of stuff.
