Cavs reportedly seeking further compensation from Celtics following Isaiah Thomas physical, could even veto trade
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, following Isaiah Thomas’ physical, the Cavs will seek further compensation in their blockbuster deal earlier this week which sent Kyrie Irving to the Celtics in exchange for Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and the Nets’ 2018 first-round pick.
The report adds without revisions to the original trade agreement, the Cavs could even threaten to veto the trade. This is likely to create great tension between the two teams and the players involved.
On Friday night, it was described as a “very sensitive situation.”
Thomas has gone through a rehab process this summer on his hip, and although the Celtics said that surgery was not necessary for Thomas, Celtics president Danny Ainge did admit that issues with the 5-foot-9 guard’s hip played “some” factor in trading him.
Stay tuned as there will certainly be more to come with this story.
