With the regular season winding down, expect Kyrie Irving and a few others to get some rest heading into the postseason.
Irving told reporters Wednesday he “definitely” plans on missing some games with only 11 remaining before the playoffs.
“It just makes no sense to put emphasis on these regular-season games when you know you’re gearing up for some battles coming in the playoffs,” Irving said.
Brad Stevens also told reporters Al Horford likely will miss games, too.
It seems likely the Celtics will be the No. 4 or 5 seed, as it will be tough to pass the 76ers, who they play Wednesday.
“As long as we get in there,” Irving said. “I don’t think our focus is in seeding, that’s pretty clear. As long as we get there, I’m happy.”
