Although the Celtics have a young lineup for next season, oddsmakers predict the team will still have a solid standing by the season’s end.
Odds Shark gives Boston the third-best odds (-550) to reach the NBA Eastern Conference playoffs in 2019-20, tied with the Pacers. Though the two teams ahead of the Celtics, the Bucks (-1500) and 76ers (-1250), are ahead by significant margins.
After acquiring former-Celtic Kyrie Irving, the Nets are listed sixth by Odds Shark at -280. Rounding out the predicted Eastern Conference playoffs are the Raptors in fifth at -300, the Heat in seventh at -250, and the Magic in eighth at -200.
Boston has made a lot of changes to the roster so far this offseason, losing Irving, Al Horford, Marcus Morris, and Terry Rozier, while drafting Romeo Langford, Grant Williams, Carsen Edwards, and Tremont Waters, in addition to acquiring Kemba Walker and Enes Kanter, among others.
These numbers can fluctuate moving forward, especially since teams could still be adjusting their rosters.
