Anthony Davis trade: Lakers swing deal with Pelicans for All-Star forward

The dream of the Celtics’ reeling in Anthony Davis is reportedly dead.

According to ESPN.com’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Pelicans have agreed to a trade that will send Anthony Davis to the Lakers for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and three first-round picks — including the No. 4 overall in this year’s draft.

Multiple reports this week suggested the Celtics were very much in play for the services of Davis. The All-Star’s agent Rich Paul went on the record with Sports Illustrated to say he “warned off” the Celtics from trading for Davis, who is eligible for free agency after the 2019-20 season.
