Scouting Report: Bridges is seen as one of the most NBA-ready prospects in this year’s draft. The guard is seen as an ideal three-and-D wing player for the NBA level. Bridges has grown from a standout defender to an elite three-point-shooter, shooting a team-high 43.5 percent from beyond the arc this season while still leading the national-champion Wildcats with 61 steals.
Bridges is efficient; besides the three-point-percentage, he shot a team-high 85 percent from the free throw line and 51 percent from the field.
NBA scouts have knocked Bridges for his lack of physicality. He doesn’t attack the rim and draw contact very much. He struggles to finish around the rim with contact or rebound in traffic. Bridges’ 2.8 made free throws on 3.4 attempts show his lack of getting to the line.
Notes: Bridges is one of the top shooting guards in the draft and will be a certain lottery pick. Most mock drafts have him going 10th overall to Philadelphia. The 76ers desperately need someone with a skillset like Bridges to complement Simmons and Embiid. On the flip side, the Sixers won’t have to worry about his ability, or lack thereof, to create his own shot with the dynamic scorers already on the roster. Philly might not even get the opportunity. The Knicks, picking directly before Philadelphia, have been linked more and more to Bridges in the last few days.
